There were suggestions of this earlier in the series, merely the lingering impression of Those Who Came Earlier has been coloured from the off by AC2'southward early vision of a pre-Biblical Adam and Eve escaping the nefarious Isu's clutches, and the long-running plot thread of Juno trying to break free into the nowadays solar day.

Elysium, instead, showcases a glorious simulation of an afterlife where Greek heroes mingle with chivalrous Isu rulers in as close to a version of its Isu past as Assassinator's Creed may ever provide. Just it'due south in the quieter moments with familiar faces (whose presence in Hades is a rather big clue to their fates in the main game) that the episode excels - in a petty more time spent with both baddies and goodies taken before their time. One character in particular was someone I longed for more than resolution with in Odyssey - entirely by design, I suspect, since their decease took me completely by surprise.
